Children’s fashion returns to show itself with the ambition of being a protagonist in the creative and increasingly sustainable world of high fashion
The happy island of kids fashion
Three days of full immersion starting from fashion aiming to involve the many other subjects who gravitate around the kid’s world. From Wednesday 22 to Friday 24 June 2022, at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, Pitti Immagine Bimbo n.95 will take place. The show returns to be independent and to grow, after two editions carried out simultaneously with Pitti Uomo, with expanded exhibition spaces, more formats with special projects and the presence of international brands that bring the show to a high level in kidswear and kids & family lifestyle. Welcome to Pitti Kids! The 95th edition is enriched by various physical events and appointments in the Fortezza and online on Pitti Connect, for a dynamic and concrete recovery. The new theme of the Pitti Immagine summer shows is a treasure island, a place of adventures that brings children back to a sensory experience, of play and relationship. An imaginary island that of Pitti Island, connected with the whole world in a mutual and constant exchange. A land of selected botany, sociable and open, at times fun, reflective and engaging, sensitive to ideas, to meet, to be together before resuming, each, their own journey “; “In all this we read a perfect metaphor of our salons and the objectives we want to achieve at each edition, selecting the best of fashion creativity” explains Agostino Poletto, general manager of Pitti Immagine. 211 are the brands participating in this edition, of which 143 are foreign labels (with a large percentage of 68% of the total). The interior of the Fortezza da Basso has been organized into two macro areas that illustrate the evolution of kidswear, its different styles and the needs of the children’s wardrobe. In fact, the kids wardrobe integrates different styles and trends that come from adult fashion and great essential classics: bon ton, luxury, sporty, urban. There is also a particular creative proposal: The Kid’s Lab, a creative showcase reserved for the avant-garde of kidswear and kids lifestyle, in which the most original and unpredictable collections and sophisticated outfits signed by young brands that stand out for their design are always very personal, for the choice of never banal materials and for the philosophy that now embraces eco-ethics in a transversal way. The will of Pitti Kids is to offer a very broad panorama of collections that express the different souls of kidswear. Big brands and iconic brands have always been committed to dressing children. From micro-outfits for newborns and their cots to teenagers with more versatile needs. From formal dresses, with a classic or contemporary cut, to activewear for school and free time. From Mini-Me to street quotes. The brands gathered under “100% children” are the starting point in the creation of an ideal wardrobe, which brings together children and parents, combines style and practicality, and responds more and more to the demands of eco-sustainable fashion. From a special project to a constant presence inside the salon, I want to be Green returns to offer a 360-degree exploration of ethical and eco-responsible issues that increasingly involve fashion, especially that designed for children. Pitti Bimbo proposes and supports large and small brands, born with a strong vocation. The selection, in the Fortezza and on Pitti Connect is curated by Dimitra Zavakou of the Berlin concept lab Little Pop Up. Sustainability as a mirror of growth and change. Welcome to Pitti Kids!
