Off-White streetwear for the luxury brand of suitcases
The creative director of Off-White, and the new director of menswear by Louis Vuitton, after signing a series of collaborations including the one with Nike, Ikea, just to cite a few examples was called by the historic brand of suitcases Rimowa for an occasion really special: the celebration of its 120th anniversary.
The result of the collaboration between the two brands has given life to an original trolley in transparent polycarbonate. Its handles, wheels and black padlocks on the locks and the handle are characteristic and unequivocally part of the Off-White visual language.
The transparent design is current and innovative at the same time, and is a shameless but playful answer to today’s obsessive discourse on the privacy culture of surveillance and anonymity.
“The simplicity and ease of working with a friend to renew a product is always an exciting project,” said Virgil Abloh about the collaboration “Rimowa was one of the first collaborations I started working on in 2014.
Alexandre and I have created a super cool and functional product. As a supporter of the brand and user of these suitcases, I was enthusiastic about what I wanted to change through our collaboration. I strongly feel that what you will see in the collaboration is the result of this”
The suitcase will be presented for the first time on June 20th during the Off-White fashion show in Paris.
