Riccardo Tisci continues to explore themes exposed to his debut


“I wanted this collection to represent the continuation of the story that I started telling in September through my debut collection with Burberry, I’m focusing on creating our codes through prints with archival motifs, iconic house colors and coats. we are cementing the new themes I defined last season, including the Thomas Burberry Monogram, evening gowns and tailored garments “.

This is how Riccardo Tisci, creative director of Burberry, declared that in the man and woman pre-collection for the Autumn / Winter 2019 he continues to explore the themes exposed to his debut with Burberry and his introduction of a new set of house codes including the Monogram Thomas Burberry.

The new collection aims at contrasts and creates a new range of evening dresses through a contemporary “British” lens.

Tisci continues to refer to Burberry‘s past through a series of prints with archival motifs and exploring the models of outerwear.

Jackets, trench coats and coats show new proportions and workmanship, both for men and women. Details include leather patchwork and shearling, snap ring closures, micro metal rings and studs.



The focus mainly concerns trenches and quilts. Here are the contrasts. Silk chiffon with silk satin lace edges with studs details. Fluid stretch jumper with sequin embroidery. Grain de poudre with leather details. Merino wool with crepe de Chine silk panels. Linseed plastic with leather details.
