Supreme, brand founded in New York in 1994 which has been fighting for years with fakes and counterfeits in Europe and Asia, wins an important legal battle and obtains the registration of the trademark by the European Union, the exclusive rights and ownership of its trademark in all 27 Member States. The registration follows the recent release of a Chinese Supreme trademark by the Chinese Trademark Office which resulted in the closure of counterfeit Supreme stores in China. In Europe, the Barcelona Court had already closed ‘Supreme Spain’ single-brand stores, another counterfeit brand. To crown a historic 2020 for Supreme, there was also the recent acquisition by the Vf Corporation group which has recently announced the acquisition of the streetwear brand for 2.1 billion dollars.
