Jordi Geller, one of the world’s largest shoe collectors, sold the pair of Nike Air Jordan 1s worn during the 1984-85 season by the then Chicago Bulls rookie at the online auction at Sotheby’s for 560,000 euros. This is the highest amount ever paid for a pair of shoes. Jordan’s sneakers have been at the center of a heated upward race that, in the last twenty minutes, has exceeded the starting estimate of over $ 150,000 by more than three and a half times. The auction date coincided with the 35th anniversary of the launch of the very first Air Jordan model.
