The creative director of Saint Laurent has collaborated with the Italian artist on a photographic project that will be presented in an exhibition, on December 15, at the annual event in Florida.
A fusion, through fashion and art, which aims to underline the different facets of the Saint Laurent woman through Vaccarello’s gaze and the creativity of Vanessa Beecroft, who has captured the essence of the maison in the connection between intellect and seduction, in the shots made immediately after the spring-summer 2019 show in Paris.
“I do not understand why fashion should be only intellectual, or just sexy. The Saint Laurent woman can be both, “said the creative director of the fashion house. The idea behind the project, in fact, is precisely that of capturing the different aspects of Saint Laurent‘s identity, capturing through the eyes of various artists selected by Anthony Vaccarello, the core values of the fashion house and mixing sensuality, self-confidence , mystery and elegance without veils or censorship.
A further tribute by the fashion house to art, always supported by Monsieur Yves Saint Laurent, who already in 1965 brought a tribute collection to the works of Piet Mondrian on the catwalk, draw a sheath dress in the history of the brand.
A dialogue continued over the years and celebrated again in 2004, when the French couturier created the exhibition “Yves Saint Laurent-Dialogue avec l’art”.
Today, Vaccarello continues this path by representing the free and nonconformist spirit of the label through art.
