The designer Anthony Vaccarello was inspired for the occasion by Yves Saint Laurent’s bond with Paloma Picasso: the collection is in fact a tribute to a fundamental but little-known moment in the couturier’s career, namely the meeting of Yves Saint Laurent with Paloma Picasso. Vaccarello explains: “For a long time I wanted to transpose this meeting, a moment to which I am sensitive as a designer because for me it is the instant in which the creativity of Saint Laurent fashion no longer makes fashion but becomes a style”. Vaccarello presented a women’s SS22 collection, a celebration of seductive and sexy female emancipation. The cut-out dresses are drawn on the body, covering and uncovering it. The accessories are worn in an unexpected way, creating a tension in the silhouette and restoring a brazen and rebellious attitude, as are the tight-fitting jumpsuits or leggings worn with very high heels that are almost impossible to wear.
