Roberto Cavalli returns to Milan Fashion Week Spring Summer 2022 under the new creative direction of Fausto Puglisi. Passion, desire, sensuality, dream and concreteness are the key words of the new collection. The starting point is the archive, with the printing experiments that in the early 1970s became a cult in fashion. The collection explores the wilder side of the Maison, with a dip in the past: Puglisi reissues the wild tiger motif of 2000/2001, famous for being worn by Cindy Crawford: back then it was an evening slip with a bias skirt. Now it is a full skirt that takes the stage, with a haute couture construction, together with the jersey minidress to be worn freely with black trousers. The animal appears today on maxi flared skirts, second skin tops, bodysuits and dresses with slits, in the original archive version or revisited in even more roaring shapes. To echo it, zebra, leopard and floral prints, in addition to classic black, for cut-out dresses, leggings, high-waisted trousers with masculine pleats. Cavalli’s new symbol is the claw, which we find in the heel for evening shoes or in the satin over-the-knee boots, and in numerous details on the capacious tote bags and mini buckets.
