The exclusivity of Yves Saint Laurent‘s creations does not fade over time.
11 years after the death of the famous Algerian designer, a jacket inspired by the paintings of Girasoli by Vincent van Gogh has been auctioned for 382 thousand euros.
The garment was worn by Naomi Campbell for the S / S 1988 fashion show.
The jacket, purchased by the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, was put up for auction a few days ago by Christie’s, which included a sale not exceeding 120 thousand euros.
The garment was made by Maison Lesage, a company specialized in couture embroidery, which had taken over 600 hours to complete the creation of which there are only 4 specimens.
The version inspired by van Gogh’s Iris was auctioned for 175,000 euros last January.
