Coronavirus risk does not affect Paris fashion week. Unlike what happened in Milan, the calendar of the women’s F / W 2020-21 collections has not undergone (for now) radical changes. Until Tuesday 3 March, the fashion shows of the most prestigious French fashion houses will be staged, starting with Dior and ending with Louis Vuitton. There will be Italian luxury brands led by Valentino, Miu Miu, Giambattista Valli and Ermenegildo Zegna, which lands in the French capital together with Fear of Gold, and will reveal a collection created together with the American brand founded by Jerry Lorenzo in Los Angeles. Also on the calendar is a cocktail for the special capsule dedicated to the 50 years of Sportmax. Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood and Stella McCartney will come from England. The Americans Thom Browne and Rick Owens are on the calendar. The stylistic experiments of Maison Margiela, Comme Des Garçons and Junya Watanabe are inevitable. Among the highlights Rochas and Kenzo Chloé, who has an all-female show in store thanks to the collaboration with the artists Rita Ackermann, Marianne Faithfull and Marion Verboom. Coperni is back, a brand founded in 2013 by Sebastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant, and Noir Kei Ninomiya, among Moncler’s Genius, and the Parisian label Gauchère founded by the German designer Marie-Christine Statz. Among the shows already held, those of Kenneth Ize, finalist of the Lvmh Prize 2019, which saw the unexpected participation of Naomi Campbell, and the first African prize winner, Thebe Magugu whose clothes are manufactured in Johannesburg with materials from suppliers locals. Presentations also included Emanuel Ungaro, Roger Vivier, Patou, Paul Smith, Nanushka and Alexandre Vauthier. On Friday 28th Diane Von Fürstenberg will be awarded the title of Knight of the Légion d’honneur to the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. The award will be given by Christine Lagarde, president of the ECB-European Central Bank.
