NYFW: The Mediterranean Garden by Oscar de la Renta

It’s hard to imagine that the Wall Street building where Oscar de la Renta‘s fashion show took place may have housed a Mediterranean garden.

Instead, atmospheres from North Africa, fruit baskets and ethnic music have been the outline of the spring-summer 2020 collection designed by Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia.

A pastel color sequence was chosen for the incipit of the show with the aim of capturing the eye, like the large bows that define the silhouettes of light dresses.

Floral caftans make you dream of nights suspended in the desert. Striped one-shoulder dresses with raw effect on the bottom seem packed by the hands of skilled craftsmen who have handed down the secrets of their work, generation after generation.
