Fashion continues
After the men’s catwalks in Milan and Paris that opened in 2023 in January, other very important events dedicated to high fashion await us throughout the month of February. The New York FW man/woman fall/winter will be held from February 10th to 15th; the London FW man/woman autumn/winter from 17 to 21 February; the Milan FW woman instead from 21 to 27 February; and finally there will be the Paris FW women’s from February 27th to March 7th. NY FW
The calendar of the New York fashion show was disclosed by the Council of Fashion Designers of America and what immediately jumps out is that there is a dense program dedicated to American fashion. 74 iconic brands from historical ones such as Judy Turner, Dion Lee, Proenza Schouler, Vivienne Tam, Priscavera, Micheal Kors, to emerging brands. The absence from this edition of brands such as Tom Ford, Peter Do and Tommy Hilfiger cannot go unnoticed. However, the Big Apple event will see the return of Thom Browne, new president of the CFDA, after a long honeymoon in Paris, and Rodarte who will open the event from 4.00 pm on Friday 10 February. Among the novelties there will be Luar, the promising brand according to McKinsey’s 2023 State of Fashion, to conclude the week and then also present the former Nike designer Heron Preston who will present his new brand, Koltson, Cucculelli Shaheen, Ayama Studio , Kallmeyer, Kate Barton, Nayon and Zimo. LONDON FW
The British Fashion Council presents a rich calendar also trying to overcome the shadow of the recent national mourning for the death of Queen Elizabeth II. There is great anticipation in the British capital for the return of Burberry to the official calendar, with the debut of the designer who transformed Bottega Veneta, Daniel Lee, a student of Phoebe Philo. Another important return is Moncler Genius which has chosen London to present its next roster of collaborations. Also active this year is the #NewGen initiative committed to launching emerging brands on the London scene, an initiative that celebrates its 30th anniversary, and which also launched Alexander McQueen in the past. Among the freshest brands are Molly Goddard, Nensi Dojaka, Ahluwalia, Halpern, David Koma, Yuzefi debuts with his first fashion show. At the end there will be another initiative in support of Ukraine in which 3 brands from Ukrainian Fashion Week, Frolov, Kseniaschnaider and Paska, will be on the catwalk. Here is the calendar:

MILAN FW
The National Chamber of Italian Fashion has published the provisional calendar of the next Milano Donna edition for the autumn/winter 2024 collections, 56 physical and 5 digital fashion shows are planned. Among the great absentees, Versace stands out, but also Luisa Beccaria and Boss and some of the new talents protagonists of the previous editions such as Ac9 and Cormio. However, there is much anticipation for some very important returns: Ferragamo under the creative direction of the British Maximilian Davis; Diesel with Glenn Martens; Prada with Miuccia and Raf, Gucci but still without the creative direction of the newly elected Sabato De Sarno, GCDS, Marco Rambaldi, ACT n°1. Also confirmed Alberta Ferretti, Roberto Cavalli, Tod’s and Giorgio Armani; Münn, Avavav, Husky and Laura Biagiotti will be present digitally. Another great return to the fashion stage is Iceberg since 1974, with a co-ed fashion show, which will inaugurate the calendar. Great excitement also for the debut of Tomo Koizumi, who will show thanks to the support of Dolce&Gabbana. Here is the calendar:

The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode and the Chambre Syndicale de la Mode Feminine have released the provisional calendar for the upcoming Women’s Fashion Week. 107 brands will be present. The students of the Institut Français de la Mode will kick off the great Parisian event, offering their graduate collections to the public. Of course, the historic and iconic French fashion houses such as Saint Laurent and Dior will be present, which will officially inaugurate the Parisian fashion week. Then there will be Balmain, Dries Van Noten, Courrèges, Rick Owens, Off-White, Valentino, Coperni and Miu Miu. For the Japanese fashion houses there will be Comme des Garçons with Yohji Yamamoto, Noir Kei Ninomiya, Mame Kurogouchi, Anrealage and Ujoh. From the international scene also the Australian Zimmermann, the English A.W.A.K.E. Modes and Victoria Beckham. There will also be the fashion show of the Vivienne Westwood brand after the designer and founder passed away just a little while ago on December 29th. Great expectations for the return after three years of absence of Alexander McQueen, the brand had concentrated on fashion shows in New York and London after the pandemic, followed by Paco Rabanne and Arthur Avellano, but also Balenciaga who returns following the controversies that have involved the brand of the Kering group in recent months. Palm Angels is also arriving, which will present its brand new womenswear project. Glenn Martens’ Y/Project debuts; British designer Harris Reed presents his vision of Nina Ricci; Daniel Roseberry for Schiaparelli’s ready-to-wear after presenting only digitally; Ludovic de Saint-Sernin under the direction of Ann Demeulemeester; and the Italian Niccolò Pasqualetti, a pupil of The Row, Alighieri and Loewe.
