The fashion shows of the next New York fashion week for the spring / summer 2022 season will be staged from 8 to 12 September and will see the return of the shows in attendance. The last edition was shortened to four days and devoid of historical names such as Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors and Tom Ford, president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. The Texan designer himself introduced the American collections calendar in February, which welcomes all American brands that show off anywhere in the world, at any time of the year. The experiment gave birth to a long list of US brands present on the Runway360 digital platform while not actually contributing to the fashion week. In September the exhibition ‘In America: a lexicon of fashion’ will be inaugurated, in May 2022 ‘In America: an anthology of fashion”. The purpose of the two retrospectives is to celebrate American fashion, too often associated above all with sportswear.
