Alessandro Dell’Acqua has presented his collection for N21 with a digital fashion show during Milan Fashion Week. His solution for the problem was offering a neat, nocturnal collection strong on chic and sensuality, with a dash of his typical louche nonchalance thrown in for balance. Playing on a molto Italian divergence between the prudish and the flashy, between concealing and revealing, he had flimsy Chantilly lace lingerie peeking from unadorned formfitting bustier dresses in thick elasticated wool. Super-short black ingenue trapeze dresses with prim ruffled bibs and cuffs à la Monica Vitti were worn with sheer black stockings and white high-heeled stilettos or platforms—the sexy accessories of choice. Say arrivederci to flip-flopping slippers and worn-out sneakers.
