Moncler has announced two names that will carry forward the concept of Genius in 2019: Richard Quinn and Matthew Williams

The result of the work of the two designers, as well as the other new collections of the third Genius launch, will be revealed during the next fashion week in Milan, on 20 February, for a total of 10 collections presented through video installations.

The event will take place at the recently restored Magazzini Raccordati, and will be open to the public on 24 February.

In addition to the two new arrivals, the Moncler Genius proposal for 2019 sees the return of some designers, but also some surprising changes. For example, Valentino’s Creative Director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, will be back, but will collaborate this time with top model Liya Kebede.

The Moncler 1952 collection will be designed by Sergio Zambon for menswear, as already known, but the company has announced that the former designer of Celine Veronica Leoni has been working for a few months on the women’s line.

Also the streetwear specialist Hiroshi Fujiwara of Fragment is back, as well as Sandro Mandrino for Moncler Grenoble, Simone Rocha, Craig Green, Francesco Ragazzi of Palm Angels (who had previously spent 10 years in Moncler) and Poldo Dog Couture. There will not be Kei Ninomiya, who from the beginning had declared that she wanted to collaborate on the project only for a year.

“I added two new creatives with the goal of expanding the range,” said Moncler CEO Remo Ruffini. “Both designers are exceptional talents, with a unique aesthetic sense”.

Richard Quinn jumped to the headlines last year, when Queen Elizabeth, surprisingly, attended her show during London Fashion Week. Matthew Williams, for his part, has collaborated with fashion stars like Kim Jones, Virgil Abloh and Alexander McQueen, as well as having dressed the “reals” of pop as Lady Gaga and Kanye West.

Their involvement could further increase the success of Moncler Genius. The company announced a series of double-digit increases in sales and rising profits; Remo Ruffini also stated that Genius exceeded expectations.
