Mipel confirmed itself as an appointment characterized by a strong international vocation for the leather goods sector, with 50% of foreign visitors. Four days full of talks, events and performances, 300 brands present and buyers from all over the world. Three main themes accompanied the event: Italian spirit, craftsmanship and sustainability. The edition n. 117 recorded an increase of 11% qualified Mipel operators compared to February 2019, which rises to + 22% if we also consider visitors from fairs held simultaneously, Micam, Homi fashion and Jewels, Linea Pelle and Simac. The positive trend started last September therefore continues when a 19% increase was observed compared to the same edition of the previous year. The Coronavirus effect impacted less significantly than fears, however generating a drop from the Far East. The attendance of European visitors has increased, with an important return of Russian and Ukrainian buyers.
