72 big appointments for the Milan Menswear 23 fall/winter collections

The new year opens with two major events dedicated to men’s fashion. It is the edition of Milan Menswear 23 from 13 to 17 January 2023 to do the opening honors which will then be followed by the French edition dedicated to men’s fashion of Paris FW Menswear from 17 to 22 January 2023. The Italian fashion capital is getting ready to welcome the catwalks of the autumn/winter 2023-24 collections with a total of 72 appointments including 21 fashion shows, 31 presentations, 5 presentations by appointment, 4 digital contents and 11 events. “Once again Milan confirms its centrality as the capital of men’s fashion, thanks to the presence of the highest Italian excellences, but also to a series of innovative and avant-garde international projects and players… Creativity, innovation, quality and sustainability continue to be the main levers for the continuous development of the Italian men’s fashion system. The Fashion Week calendar that we are presenting today turns out to be full of appointments that demonstrate the great dynamism of the sector” commented Carlo Capasa as President of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion. This edition of Milan Menswear 23 fall/winter 2023 will also be accompanied by a preliminary promotional communication campaign created by CNMI, the Municipality of Milan and Yes Milano, with the aim of telling and showing an unusual Milan through Paolo’s photographs Zerbini, the styling of Riccardo Maria Chiacchio at the Balera dell’Ortica, and as protagonists the looks of Federico Cina, Çanaku, MTL Studio and Bonsai. The promotional campaign will be broadcast on the screens through the billboards of the Municipality of Milan from 9 to 17 January. “With the autumn/winter 2023 edition, Milan Fashion Week for Men confirms its attractiveness by bringing the protagonists of the sector and the excellence of Made in Italy to the city in a schedule full of appointments, dynamic in formulas and contaminated in collaborations. Together with the big brands, which we are happy and honored to host, the new talents will parade in Milan and this once again demonstrates the attention of Camera della Moda towards young people. I also look particularly favorably on the initiative launched for this edition of men’s fashion and dedicated to women: a mentoring process which, like the Municipality’s project, aims to help them find their own path in the world of work” he commented the Councilor Alessia Cappello for Economic Development, with responsibility for Fashion and Design. Milan Menswear 23 will be opened by the Gucci fashion show at 2.00pm on January 13th. The great brand is back in the menswear calendar after three years; it is still to be understood who will have the task of presenting the collection given the recent separation between the great Florentine maison and the Roman designer Alessandro Michele who held the role of creative director. Closing on the same day for autumn/winter 2023 will be the Dsquared2 show which returns to the co-ed format: “We are ready to return to the co-ed approach, which comes naturally to us, because we always design the Dsquared2 man thinking of the Dsquared2 woman and vice versa…The Dsquared2 men’s and women’s collections often share a common creative inspiration declared Dean Caten and Dan Caten. Among the other events on the calendar, the Colmar brand will present a preview of the new Colmar Revolution collection on the occasion of its 100th anniversary. The first collaboration between Marni and Carhartt WIP will be presented on January 14 at 20:30; Monday 16 January there will be the presentation “The Added Element” born from the collaboration between The Woolmark Company & Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli. The five days of Milan Menswear 23 will end with the Zegna show on Monday 16th at 3.00pm. This fashion week is built on encouraging data for the Italian fashion industry which resisted the negative pressures of the economic situation in the 3rd quarter of 2022, increasing its turnover by 19% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2021.
