Cnmi has created a new working table on fashion week to which some of the most famous companies have joined. The collaboration created a more balanced calendar for September Fashion Week, with Gucci and Prada changing slots
It is a revolutionized calendar the first concrete measure taken by the newborn Table for Milan Fashion Week, established by the Italian National Chamber of Fashion, which brought together companies such as Bottega Veneta, Fendi, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Max Mara, Marni, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo and Versace.
They have chosen to “position themselves” as part of the Women’s Fashion Week of September 2019 and February 2020, favoring the balance and, ideally, prolonging the stay of buyers in the city.
From here, the choice to anticipate Prada’s show on Wednesday 18 September – traditionally the show has always been on Thursday at 6pm – and the Gucci show, which in recent years has been held on Wednesday, will instead be scheduled for Sunday, September 22. In February, however, the “pillars” of opening and closing milan fashion week will be Gucci (Wednesday 19 February) and Giorgio Armani (Sunday 23 February).
In fact, all the brands that participated in the table gave their willingness to rotate within the calendar in the seasons to come.
It confirms, therefore, the desire to make system by the main players of the fashion industry, which just in recent years has made the synergy between institutions and companies one of their strengths. The goal, during fashion week, remains to offer an international showcase not only to the big brands, but also to the emerging and small and medium-sized companies of Made in Italy that are “at home” in Milan
