Take the golden extravagances of Marie Antoinette and catapult them into cosplay Tokyo. Welcome to the Moschino show where, for Autumn / Winter 2020-21, Jeremy Scott reinterprets the fantastic wardrobe of the Queen of France in anime sauce. Marie Antoinette who comes out of the flat screen to travel to her court in Versailles is not capricious and frivolous but determined and rebellious. On the catwalk there are all iconic codes of Moschino: bikers and oversized sweatshirts transformed into farthingale and pannier mini dresses. And again the print that winks at Lady Oscar and the Toile de Jouy motifs, reinvented with anime characters. We are at the military school of San Luca, but it could be the laboratory of a French pastry chef or the petit Trianon. The super tops on the catwalk are freshly baked pastries and delicacies: Gigi Hadid dressed in sugar roses, Kaia Gerber and Joan Smalls cake become, for one night, delicacies to bite.
