Starting with the fall 2022 collections, none of the Kering group houses will use animal furs any more, in view of the sustainability path that has already begun for years. Since Gucci in 2017, all the brands of the group, namely Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen, Brioni and Saint Laurent, have progressively moved towards this decision. Kering is the latest in a large group of fashion brands that has adhered to the fur free policy. The latest in chronological order was Valentino who announced in May to ban furs from his collections starting in 2022. The sale of furs at an international level suffered a sharp decline already in the 90s. Among the names of great designers and fashion houses to have banned furs there are also Armani, Michael Kors, Stella Mc Cartney, Prada Versace and Jimmy Choo.
