Crafted with a black leather upper
After releasing a 30th anniversary capsule collection of the Tabi boot in July, Maison Margiela and SSENSE are back with another exclusive edition of the popular silhouette. This version of the model sees the shoe wrapped in premium black leather along the upper, while the addition of a clear Bounce heel adds a modernized foundation.
The latest boot is one of the more minimalistic takes on the signature split-toe design, stripping away the paint splatter and distressed suede options of some of its previous counterparts. Its shiny patent upper is offset by the transparent rubber midsole, while tonal branding on the heel calls out the style’s specific footwear line, “22.” Tan-colored lining rounds out the details with a polished interior finish.
Maison Margiela’s Tabi Bounce Split-Toe Leather Boots are priced at $874 USD, but the French label isn’t the only luxury house to offer its take on the translucent heel as of late. During the summer, Prada released its own pair of sleek derby shoes boasting a clear outsole.
