In the first six months of 2021 LVMH consolidates its leadership in the luxury sector, even compared to the other giant Kering. Thanks to its own houses and above all to the two heavyweights Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior, the fashion and leather goods division generated 13.86 billion euros, growing by 81 percent compared to the previous year, almost doubling all the luxury brands of Kering put together with names like Gucci Saint Laurent, Balenciaga or Bottega Veneta. However, both groups have returned to pre-pandemic levels. Gucci in particular, which celebrates its centenary this year, accelerated in many regions during the second quarter, thanks to multiple in-store animations and pop-ups and good results achieved with young Chinese customers.
