In 2015, online consumption in luxury goods amounted to 17 billion euros. In 2020 the figure grew to 49 billion euros, and it is now expected that it will reach 105-115 billion in 2025. The estimates were presented at Altagamma retail insight 2021 and Matteo Lunelli, Altagamma President, explains: “The Italian companies are implementing a profound transformation of their business model in a digital perspective and this also affects retail a lot, especially after the acceleration of 2020 due to Covid-19. Several solutions have been implemented, from diversification to pop-up stores or services. The future could lead to a radical change in the retail scenario.
