The new ‘Montblanc Meisterstück Around the World in 80 Days’ collection pays homage to the famous novel by Jules Verne. The indigo blue and wave pattern of the collection are inspired by the long stretch of ocean navigation that takes the protagonist from the Suez Canal to Bombay. The steamer, the main means of transport used by the characters in the first part of the voyage, is laser engraved on the hood. The 18 days it took to complete the first part of the itinerary are engraved on the back of the top of the cap, while the 80 days for the entire trip appear on the front. The balloon is a tribute to Jules Verne’s spirit of adventure and refers to another of his works, ‘Five weeks in a balloon’, in which his characters used a balloon to go in search of the sources of the Nile.
