Luxury hotel, it’s time for shopping: the Bauer, historic 5-star hotel in Venice located in the homonymous building near Piazza San Marco, in business since 1880 and member of the association The Leading Hotels of the World, was purchased by the Austrian real estate group Signa, which boasts a 20 billion euro portfolio including, among others, the Chrysler skyscraper in New York. Elliott fund sold the hotel.  Previous owners were the Bortolotto Possati family, grandchildren of the Ligurian manufacturer Arnaldo Bennati and the Bauer-Grünwald family. The Elliott fund in Venice also control the Bauer Palladio Hotel, located on the Giudecca island. The Signa group already owns Villa Eden Luxury Resort on the Lake of Garda. In the luxury hotel sector, the acquisition follows the one by Red Circle investments of the owner of Diesel Renzo Rosso buying the Anchor Hotel in Cortina.
