National Chamber of Italian Fashion presents the Report on Social Sustainability of the luxury fashion sector to better understand the working conditions of the thousands of employees who work in the sector. In 2019-2020, before the global pandemic, Fair Wage Network together with Cnmi conducted a unique survey among 45 national suppliers in the textile, leather goods, footwear, accessories and many other products sectors with interviews with almost 1,100 employees in all Italian regions. The report found that almost all suppliers operate in full compliance with the law, while nearly 100% of workers said they were paid on time, without delay. The average gross salary at the suppliers surveyed was 2,062 euros. Overall, 81% of workers were fully (24%) or partially (57%) satisfied with their working conditions, while 82% were completely satisfied salary (16%) or partially satisfied (66%).
