Alexander McQueen Spring Summer 2020: the Pre Collection

THE FRAGILE BEAUTY OF NATURE
clashes and meets with full and saturated colors in Alexander McQueen‘s Pre Summer Spring 2020 collection, a floral triumph that softens all excess romance with a look and finishes of military inspiration.

A sort of luxury herbarium comes to life on the clothes, where the endangered flowers are preserved with elegant delicacy and become leitmotifs that run after garments and accessories. A love story, beautiful, strong and raw that is told through the heart of a woman and the heart of a flower, similar and different at the same time, exposed and protected. Twisted.

The inspiration is real: the flowers were photographed or painted directly in the greenhouses to make the shades of the petals and the harmonious shapes of the buds concrete, transformed into embroidery and prints with hypnotically real colors. Orchid pink, hibiscus, red, amber, khaki and silver are in contrast with essential black and white, in a continuous game where femininity is contrasted with sartorial design and military aesthetics.

A sartorial journey with silk and wool as protagonists, but also plongé leather, lace, cotton poplin, satin and tulle and denim. The dresses are crossed by ruffles and lace and worn with contrasting belts at the waist, the leather creates a corolla-shaped blazer, the total black trench coats are finished with 3D-effect decorations or ton-sur-ton lace trimmings that faithfully follows the forms. The see-through lace makes up a long dress with wrap-around ruffles, pink and red go hand in hand on the maxi gathers and on the lapels of the tailored jackets, the black goes with bold colors that soften its rigor.

The Tread Slick boots have a canvas upper and contrasting rubber soles, the trompe l’oeil wedge sandals have metal straps and heels, the flat ones want the leather upper with buckles and triple-layer soles in leather and patent leather. The belts are finished with brass rings borrowed from the horse world, the necklaces and tubular bracelets, in antiqued silver, are worn with multicolored hoop earrings studded with crystals and stars and roses in relief.

Among the bags, the Story stands out with the upper handle in polished brass and the shoulder strap finished with studs and the Tall Story, an evolution of the first in a tote shape. The Myth has a front pocket and a brand new polished brass, the Mini skull has the famous skull closure and a coin purse with zip on the back, the shiny leather pouch and a new glossy brass detail.
