The Portuguese designer Oliveira Baptista will leave the artistic direction of Kenzo, the LVMH maison, at the end of June. Baptista, former creative director of Lacoste, took over two years ago from Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, founders of Opening Ceremony, who headed the fashion house’s style office for 8 years. Kenzo Takada passed away from Covid last October at the age of 81. The Kenzo brand was purchased by the French giant in 1993 for 80.5 million dollars; Takada left the creative direction of the brand in 1999 without ever ceasing to support the designers at the helm of the label including Antonio Marras and the Leon / Lim duo.
