New change at the top for Jil Sander. Axel Keller is in charge of the label after Alessandra Bettari has acted as CEO to take on the Vice President of Onward Luxury Group (OLG), the parent company’s European subsidiary.

Keller arrived in Jil Sander last February to fill the role of sales manager, the same position that the manager had held for 15 years in Balenciaga.

The repositioning and expansion of Jil Sander are the main objectives of OLG, which acquired the brand in 2008 from the private equity firm Change Capital Partners LLP for a value of 167 million euros.

To achieve these goals, Jil Sander focuses on wholesale trade – the company recently debuted with corners in prestigious department stores, including the Galeries Lafayette in Paris and Selfridges in London – as well as on the retail channel.

At the end of last month, the fashion house unveiled its new retail concept in Tokyo, based on the use of natural materials.

This is the third change to the leadership of the German brand in three years: until 2015, in fact, he had been CEO Alessandro Cremonesi.
