New York Fashion Week heats up the engines: ahead of the official start, on September 6, with closing on the 11th

This is the first test of Tom Ford (who parades under his brand on 9 September), who as president of the Cfda has tried to draw up a calendar more compact than usual.

Yesterday Ford announced the entry of four new members to the board of the American Chamber of Fashion: Virgil Abloh, Carly Cushnie, Maria Cornejo and Kerby Jean-Raymond, who take the seats vacated by Georgina Chapman, Kara Ross, Mimi So and Marcus Wainwright.

A look at the calendar highlights, among the pieces from ninety already today there is Jeremy Scott, while tomorrow will be the turn among others among others Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade New York, Rebecca Minkoff, Helmut Lang and Chiara Boni La Petite Robe.

On September 8, he fielded, to name a few, Tory Burch, Nicole Miller, Prabal Gurung and Jason Wu, who returned to the spotlight after two seasons of absence. Grand finale of the day with Tommy Hilfiger and the Tommyx Zendaya collection, designed together with the global brand ambassador, based on concepts of inclusivity, diversity and emancipation.

It’s the first time the show, known as TommyNow, has appeared in New York, after a long tour of Europe and Asia: the show is on the evening of September 8, at 8.30pm local time at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, where Ella Fitzg performed, among others Aretha Franklin and The Supremes.

Also on the 9th are two anniversaries: the ten years of the Brand Prabal Gurung and the 30 years of Dkny, the latter with a happy few party at the Dumbo in Brooklyn. It should be noted, then, that three emerging (Cdlm/Creatures of the wind, Section 8 and Vaquera) join forces, parading together.

Cynthia Rowley, Proenza Schouler and Oscar de la Renta are on the table on September 10, but you’ll also hear a lot about Rihanna’s lingerie line event, Savage x Fenty.

The last word, 9/11, belongs to Marc Jacobs, preceded by Michael Kors and Badgley Mischka.
