Ibra, from football to fashion, Zlatan presents the new and awaited capsule collection with Dsquared2
Black on black
The new and special Black on Black capsule born from a close friendship between Dean and Dan Caten of the top brand Dsquared2 and the famous and iconic international football champion Zlatan Ibrahimović was launched yesterday during an official presentation in the Italian capital of Italian fashion, Milan, at the Dsquared2 store in Porta Nuova. A large crowd of fans and onlookers literally surrounded the store awaiting Ibra’s arrival. The idea of Black on Black, this is the name of the capsule, was designed by the designers and the champion himself to embody his iconic style and his individual personality. Ibra was obviously the special guest of the cocktail organized for the launch of the capsule collection. The AC Milan striker, who is preparing his return after knee surgery, was present to his wife Helena Seger but other celebrities including rapper Emis Killa also attended the inauguration. Embodying the name of Zlatan Ibrahimović, the chromatic lineup of the capsule is entirely in black, from evening wear, to day pieces, from sportswear to denim and accessories but also beachwear. Black tone-on-tone motifs on the garments: logos printed with Dsquared2 and the nickname of the Milan striker Ibra, initials of Zlatan Ibrahimov, ZL, embroidered in italics, labels and denim ribbons with Dsquared2, Ibra and the name of the collection. The tags designed for the pieces are printed in block letters. Evening wear is a mix of contemporary and classic. The black tuxedo features a blazer, a black tuxedo shirt, pleated pants, and a thin, leather lace-up bow tie. Unexpected evening looks are covered in a subtle shimmer of black crystals: jeans, a loose fit hoodie and relaxed fit shorts. Everyday pieces are cut with modern elegance. A double-breasted coat in wool felt, biker pants in wool and merino knits are combined with a poplin shirt. Hybrid-style outerwear is crafted with leather biker sleeves, including a zip-up wool blazer and a long wool coat. A bomber jacket features Ibra printed on the back. T-shirt, black bull jeans and washed denim jacket and western denim shirt are paired with boots and baseball caps. Sporty hooded sweatshirts and joggers are made from technical fleece or cotton. Even the swimming pool and beach clothing is covered by a medium length swim boxer, bathrobe and sandals for the solution during the entire annuity. The Swedish champion talked about his relationship with fashion and with the Caten brothers’ brand and was enthusiastic: “Fashion for me means being comfortable. I have designed more than one collection with Dsquared2 – in fact we are at the second capsule of their co-lab – and I have learned a lot from them ”.
