Alexander McQueen’s parent company, Kering, is betting big on New York

The international luxury fashion house has inked a lease for 6,600 square feet in SoHo, where its new McQueen location will take two floors at 71 Greene St., the New York Post reported.

The new store will be across the street from another Kering fashion label, Yves Saint Laurent and near Kering’s Gucci store at 63 Wooster St.

Alexander McQueen’s flagship store, which is half the size of the SoHo space, is at 747 Madison Ave.

The fashion label relocated to Madison Avenue in 2013 from the Meatpacking District after signing a 15-year lease, the Post said.

The McQueen fashion house, which was founded in 1992 by Lee Alexander McQueen, is known for its quirky, eccentric designs.

After McQueen committed suicide in 2010, the Metropolitan Museum of Art honored him the following year by with an exhibit, “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty.”

There is no set opening date for the new location.
