Gucci launches the Vault digital project at Milan fashion week, unveiling the new online concept store created by creative director Alessandro Michele in an installation in Piazza Sempione. The platform includes numerous refurbished and customized archival items for sale. A few hours after the launch, many products immediately sold out, such as a Bamboo bag from the 60s or a silk skirt with floral print from 1999. Numerous products are still available such as a Crystal GG suitcase from 1970 and a white shoulder bag from the 1960s, second-hand Gucci pieces or pieces from archives, personally chosen by Michele and the brand’s expert archivists, later completely restored. Each vintage item is unique and numbered and sold in a dedicated package. Another flagship of Vault, a term that in French means ‘vault’, is the large space dedicated to numerous proposals by emerging talents.
