Jean Paul Gaultier focuses on Glenn Martens for the next couture collection, as part of the choice to appoint, from time to time, a guest designer capable of interpreting the world of Gaultier according to his own aesthetic code. Martens, creative director of Y / Project and from 2020 also of Diesel, will work on the S / S 2022 collection, succeeding Chitose Abe, Japanese designer soul of Sacai, called for F / W 2021. Martens in 2008 staged his graduation show at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and was recruited by Gaultier as an junior designer for the his women’s pre-collection and for the men’s label G2. Emerging designers such as Ottolinger, Palomo Spain, Nicola Lecourt Mansion, Alan Crocetti and Marvin M’Toumo will collaborate. The brand management explained that during the year there will be a series of capsules at irregular intervals. Gaultier is stylistically involved in the development of the project, as well as as a brand ambassador, even though Florence Tétier has been appointed creative and brand director since September.
