Triennale Milano recalls the talent of photographer Giovanni Gastel, who died prematurely last March. with two exhibitions ‘The people I like’, created in collaboration with the Maxxi National Museum of 21st Century Arts, and ‘The jewels of the imagination’, in partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Photography. ‘The people I like’, curated by Uberto Frigerio, presents over 200 large-format portraits, most of them in black and white, evidence of the variety of encounters that characterized Gastel’s long career among models, actresses, artists, sector operators, VIPs, singers, musicians, politicians, journalists, designers and chefs. Among the characters portrayed: Monica Bellucci, Bebe Vio, Barack Obama, Marco Pannella, Franca Sozzani, Ettore Sottsass, Tiziano Ferro, Vasco Rossi, Fiorello and Roberto Bolle.
