The Sicilian designer loved by pop stars is studying a fashion show in the Big Apple

Fausto Puglisi has clear ideas. He chose not to parade during this Milan fashion week to focus on a series of new projects related to the USA. The Messina designer loved by stars like Madonna, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz continues to create buzz on social media and in international communication. During the days of Milan women’s fashion, she chose to present the new collection in the evocative showroom at Leonardo’s Vigna, in front of Santa Maria delle Grazie. But New York and Miami will be the focus of his communication strategy, as he explained to MFF in this interview.

What is the reality of Fausto Puglisi today?
I chose to remain independent despite the many offers received. I don’t like the idea of being part of a stable. I prefer to be able to decide my destiny.

How do you produce and distribute the collection?
For years I have been produced by Factory in Florence, an excellent company. For distribution, after leaving the Riccardo Grassi showroom, I continued on my own.

What is your most important market?
Without a doubt the United States. This is why I decided not to show in Milan and bring a trunk show from Barney’s to New York on my birthday on March 8th. And a few weeks later in Miami for another show from The Webster.

Does the collaboration with the Max Mara group continue?
Yes, the special capsule for Marina Rinaldi has sold out and there will be a new chapter.

You are very loved by celebrities, are there any projects in this sense?
I signed up to dress two major pop stars for their American tours, but I can’t say their names right now.

Will you be back in Milan?
It is not scheduled. In truth, given my closeness to the United States, I am considering to show in New York already the next September.
