The fashion and sustainability project proceeds quickly. This is confirmed by Greenpeace with data collected in seven years since the launch of the Detox My Fashion project.
With Detox My Fashion, the non-governmental environmentalist and pacifist organization, challenges fashion companies by asking them to stop the pollution of the fluvial ways strongly compromised by the chemicals released by the industries.
The goal of detoxifying the planet has not been fully achieved although the eighty companies that have joined the initiative are making significant progress.
FAUX FUR, WE DISPLAY THE MYTH OF ECO-SUSTAINABILITY.

Synthetic fur is not eco-sustainable at all. It is true that many lives are saved, but many are killed.
The reason? Synthetic furs are made from plastic and petroleum based materials such as nylon, acrylic and polyester.
These products of the industry, subsequently, are processed in order to obtain a fleece qualitatively superior to the origin. This determines not only a waste of energy three times higher but also an excessive use of chemical solvents that are often poured into rivers and seas.
According to ‘International Fur Federation, fashion produces 20% of total wastewater and 10% of global emissions. It is the second most polluting industry on our planet after the coal sector.
THE ITALIAN BRANDS HAVE EMBRACED THEME FASHION AND SUSTAINABILITY?
Valentino and Benetton are the brands that responded to the call of Greenpeace. With them, another fifty-eight Italian companies. Among the eighty brands on the list, also Puma, Mango, Burberry, Adidas, Mango and Levi’s.
In the report, however, there are three local realities converted to fur free: Gucci, Versace and Armani.
In the last edition of Milano Unica, held last July, 123 companies presented over 750 eco-friendly samples.
The capital of Italian fashion, moreover, favors the theme of fashion and sustainability with the Green Carpet Fashion Awards.
The event, organized by the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, rewards the company most attentive to the health of the planet.
The first edition was won by Tiziano Guardini, superb while creative, in a recent chat told us how his creations come to life.
The second edition is scheduled for 23rd September 2018 at the La Scala theater in Milan in conjunction with the Milan fashion Week. .
