Michelle Elie, known as “the girl who wore Comme des Garçons from the runway to the street,” started collecting Comme des Garçons way back in the ’90s when she first moved to New York to be a model. That passion is now the subject of the exhibition “Life Doesn’t Frighten Me: Michelle Elie Wears Comme des Garçons” in Frankfurt’s Angewandte Kunst Museum. Each one of 50 mannequin has a corresponding SoundCloud file so to listen Elie narrate its significance. The exhibition, with social distancing measure. is on view until August 31, and Elie hopes it will travel to other museums as cities in Europe and throughout the world begin to reopen.
