Dior turns to the US Patent and Trademark Office to register the design of the ‘Saddle’ bag, 20 years after its launch, famous for its particularly recognizable shape and introduced by John Galliano during the Spring / Summer 2000 season. The Saddle bag has been brought back to the fore since the F / W 2018-19 collection by adding new details to the accessory that incorporates the profile of a saddle. To receive the required recognition, Dior will have to demonstrate the uniqueness and recognisability of the product based on sales, but also on the media coverage of the bag and on the attempts at counterfeiting it has gone through.
