This year too the Californian event hits the mark to dictate the styles and trends of the new season. Between the performances of Selena Gomez and Cardi B, up to the presence of a group of hot models like Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Kaia Gerber and Alessandra Ambrosio

Also this year Coachella is not missing her appointment with fashion. In fact, what is known as one of the most important American music festivals, which takes place every year at the Empire polo fields of Indio, in the Californian desert, has become an opportunity to discover the latest trends and fashion styles. Thanks especially to the great artists and the stars who take part in it.

After the success of 2018, where an amazing Beyoncé made history with its Balmain performance and glittery looks, the 2019 edition, a three-day event that began on Friday and ended last night (which will be repeated in the same way next weekend), not has certainly disappointed expectations.

To ride the stage of the event names like Selena Gomez, Childish Gambino, one of the recent phenomena of the world hip hop, the rapper CardiB, the Blackpink, the four queens not only of the K-popma also of Youtube, since the video of the their single Kill the love was the one that so far has had more views in the first 24 hours of publication.

And, again, Wiz Khalifa, Katy Perry, J Balvin, Pusha T, dressed by stylist Craig Green, and especially the pop star of the moment Ariana Grande, who after the concert last night, won the title of youngest headliner of always of the festival. Nickelodeon’s former star performed with songs from her Sweetener tour wearing a heart-shaped choker and a plum-colored mini dress with maxi shoulders.

But there was no shortage of surprises: the artist has in fact invited her to sing with her the rapper and her dear friend Nicki Minaj and the members of NSYNC, the boy band of the Nineties who met for the occasion. Given the success of his performance, fans and the press renamed the Ari-chella event, just as the year before was for Beyoncé (Bey-chella).

But the real surprise this year was the dj set by Virgil Abloh, artistic director of Off-White and Louis Vuitton menswear. For his festival debut the designer wore a pair of Off-White x Nike sneakers, also shared on his Instagram account. What is the fruit of a new step in the collaboration?

Instead Gomez, the it-girl with the most followed Instagram account, showed up on the surprise stage (her speech and Cardi B’s were not in fact scheduled) with a total white look made up of a male suit and transparent dress with jabot while Cardi B, among the most talked about singers of the moment, with a shaped and decorated bustier of flowers on leotards with fringed shorts. To complete, a manicure with very long fluorescent nails. Katy Perry on the Coachella stage wore a coral pink jumpsuit with straps and a fringed rhinestone sleeveless dress.

But to attract the attention of all were especially the looks of the stars, whose details are already the trend this spring. From Gigi Hadid to Kaia Gerber, from the sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner to the new mother of Justin Bieber Hailey Baldwin, from Emily Ratajkowski to Sara Sampaio, AlessandraAmbrosio, Vannessa Hudgens, up to the Italians Valentina Ferragni, sister of the digital entrepreneur Chiara Ferragni, and Giulia De Lellis.

Since its foundation, Coachella is par excellence the cradle of hippy and boho-chic style, with crochet dress, braids and jewel make-up as great musts. Last year’s edition featured a streetwear trend, with sneakers and baby carriers that took the place of boots and the classic backpack on one’s shoulder.

This year, the iconic garments of the festival, such as the multicolor tops, the shorts and the denim jackets with a rock touch, the transparent dresses that show off the swimsuits, have been added with mesh fabrics, fluorescent shades, batik prints and patterns romantic, one of all the floral.

Among the essential accessories, baby carriers, backpacks, sneakers and of course the combat boots and camperos boots. Together with colored and layered necklaces with charms and letters, bracelets, earrings and straps with shells, in vogue since last summer, multicolor beads on each jewel and henna tattoos. Not forgetting sunglasses with lenses of all shapes and colors.

But as usual, the beauty trends and hairstyles created ad hoc win the spotlight. Like the colored and glittered make-up, enriched with jeweled dots or designs fixed around the eyes, on the eyelids and on the face, or simple black eyeliner combined with pink lipsticks. And manicure with highlighter or black rock star tones.

Among the hairstyles most seen this year, instead, probably due to the presence of Ariana Grande, there is certainly the high and long tail, supported by extension, like the one brought by Giulia De Lellis on Friday. Or the fluid and wavy hair, as it was for Selena Gomez, Valentina Ferragni and Vanessa Hudgens. In almost all the looks, the traditional African braids are embellished with colored threads and flowers. This year many stars have adorned their hairstyles with gems and diamonds.

In this regard, Pantene and Nyx, brand of the L’Oréal group, were the official partners of the event, respectively for hair care and make-up. For the occasion, the first launched a special product capsule dedicated to the festival, while the second, which signed a collaboration on the spot, had an entire area dedicated to the Glitter goals collection within the space.

Sister Kendall was immortalized with a shoulder free mini-dress with flounced hem, long two-tone gloves and pointed ankle boots with decorative buckle in lime green. Gigi Hadid opted for the tie-dye for his first look: pink, yellow and black cargo vests with oversized white trousers and black amphibians along with a multitude of multicolor necklaces and bracelets in different materials, from wooden badges to the tassels to the garlands of shells, up to the golden chains to be applied also on the hands while on the second day of the festival brought a long dress with batik print slit paired with the Dr Martens boots and the shoulder bag.

Finally, Victoria’s secret top model and angel Kelsey Merritt chose a mesh dress with a V-neck and fringes paired with camperos and a jewel belt.
