Bottega Veneta, the Italian luxury brand, announced today with a note of being ready to leave with its new collection
Following the recent change of creative direction, Bottega Veneta will not present the Spring / Summer 2019 collection with a fashion show during the Milan Fashion Week in September.
The first show of the new Creative Director Daniel Lee will be for the Fall / Winter 2019 season in Milan next February.
Bottega Veneta has appointed Daniel Lee as new creative director starting next July 1st. The British designer, who recently covered the role of design director of Céline’s ready-to-wear line, replaces Tomas Maier.
Thirty-two, Daniel Lee graduated from the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Before joining Céline in 2012, she worked for Maison Margela, Balenciaga and Donna Karan.
“By entrusting the entire creative direction of Bottega Veneta to Daniel Lee, a young talented designer – says the official note -, Kering continues to place bold and courageous creativity at the center of his strategy”.
“It was the uniqueness of his vision inspired by a very personal creative approach – said François-Henri Pinault – to convince me that he would be the ideal interpreter of a new chapter in the history of the brand”.
His work is characterized in fact by a great rigor, a mastery mastery of the expertise in the atelier, a deep passion for materials and an energy that I can not wait to take shape in Bottega Veneta.
The CEO of the house, Claus Dietrich Lahrs, is also optimistic: “Daniel Lee perfectly understood the current challenges for the company, both in terms of creation and brand development. In Bottega Veneta will bring a new and distinctive creative language building the success of the brand on the basis of the ambitious foundations developed in the last years “.
