Alexander McQueen unveils his new flagship store in the Quadrilatero, from via Verri, home of the previous store to the 650sqm boutique on two floors in via San’Andrea 21, in the spaces previously occupied by Saint Laurent. The store carries on the concept created by creative director Sarah Burton in collaboration with architect Smiljan Radic and hosts women’s and men’s ready-to-wear as well as accessories. The Milan store follows the example of the London flagship store in Old Bond Street opened at the end of 2018 and extended to other cities such as Miami, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul and New York, as well as in the recent Florence store. New stores are mainly composed of natural materials: wood on floors, ceilings and walls, sculptures in granite and onyx in place of the more conventional display tables fused with innovative coatings including cotton-clay, a completely sustainable papier-mâché, worked like a fabric , and glass cylinders that pierce the interior introducing reflection and light.
