Recycled cashmere, organic cotton and messages of love for the earth
A collection in recycled cashmere and organic cotton, with compostable packaging, eco-labels and messages of love to the earth: it’s ‘Love me’, the collection created by Alberta Ferretti in collaboration with Eco-Age and presented at Mr Fogg’s House of Botanicals, in London, along with guests such as Livia Firth, Arizona Muse, Eva Herzigova, Pixie Lott and Carlo Capasa.
After the first sustainable collection of 2011, born from the collaboration with British actress Emma Watson, today Alberta Ferretti explains that she wants to commit herself to starting a process of integrating sustainability that involves the entire production process and encourages consumers to make more and more choices aware and responsible from an environmental point of view. The “Love Me” collection, available as an exclusive preview on albertaferretti.com from April 15th, in the week before the Earth Day, consists of soft recycled cashmere sweaters, t-shirts, trousers and skirts in organic cotton with messages that they want to stimulate reflection on the urgency that the global ecological problem has taken on. Each garment has been made with certifications that guarantee the recycled origin of the material, the use of biological fabrics and a reduction in the use of chemical substances.
“I have always loved nature, celebrated life and love.
Love for a world that is suffering and that we must safeguard. It is for this reason – says the designer – that I decided to set an example and take a path that can support eco-sustainability and thus guarantee future generations a cleaner planet in which to live. With the ‘Love Me’ collection, created with recycled cashmere and organic cotton, I would like to make all of us aware of how together we can do more to protect and love the world we live in and how we can play an active role in this change: becoming ourselves same ambassadors. By joining forces with love, we can change the world “.
“The entire Eco-Age team – adds Livia Firth – is enthusiastic about collaborating with Alberta Ferretti on this project. It fills me with joy that one of the most important Italian designers has undertaken a sustainability initiative with so much passion and commitment”.
