From January 30th an exhibition will be staged in Berlin to commemorate the genius of Gianni Versace

Starting from January 30th, Berlin will host an exhibition dedicated to the legendary Italian creative Gianni Versace. Organized at the Kronprinz Palace, on the Unter den Linden boulevard, the retrospective will present unique pieces designed by Versace for several stars, such as Prince, Madonna and Elton John, or for top models like Claudia Schiffer or Naomi Campell. For the inauguration of the exhibition, which will remain open until April 14, a fashion show will be organized on January 30th. The retrospective is organized in collaboration with Antonio Caravano, a Neapolitan collector who is passionate about the great designer.

Gianni Versace: the one who brought supermodels to the fore

Gianni Versace became famous in the ’80s and’ 90s thanks to its opulent and luxurious collections; he is often considered the one who inaugurated “the era of supermodels“. His career abruptly ended in 1997 when he was murdered in front of his villa in Florida. The Berlin retrospective arrives after a year full of tributes to Versace, on the occasion of the twenty years since his untimely death.
